It all began 50 years ago when my mother's dear friend shared the recipe.  The special bond created through baking these cookies reminds us that the simplest acts can have the most profound impact, teaching us that love is everlasting, friendships are timeless, and memories are the threads that weave the tapestry of our lives.

Honoring that connection, I have continued to bake these cookies for two decades, reminded of the everlasting presence of those who have touched our lives. Each batch is a tribute to their love, a celebration of their legacy, and a testament to the enduring power of friendship.

The original recipe contains Anise, known for its multiple health benefits, which turns eating a cookie into a "good for your soul and body" experience. Reproportioning a few key ingredients allows me to create new flavors, making the recipe one of a kind.
